Insurance

health insuranceYour health insurance can pay for all or some of the cost for care provided.  I have had families pay nothing after reimbursement from their insurance company.  Yes, not one penny out of pocket after reimbursement.  I have had families pay a low deductible, or about the same cost if they had seen a doctor and birthed at a hospital.  Don’t count out your insurance.

Affordable?  Yes!

If you have out-of-network benefits, your insurance can pay for your birth.  Even with a deductible, you can ask for an in-network authorization or gap coverage to have them cover my care at the in-network rates.

I have also had families use their Health Savings Account to pay for what insurance does not cover.

Which insurance plans?

My families have had great coverage with Aetna, United Healthcare, Cigna, Coventry, Foreign Service Benefit Plan and GEHA, among the many.  Carefirst/Anthem/Blue Cross Blue Shield varies, in that it depends on the individual plan.  Email me about coverage – they are aggressive with getting the maximum reimbursement for you.
